government, projects, va medicalPure Electric successfully completed two projects for the Veterans Administration within their medical centers. At the San Francisco VA Medical Center, Pure Electric installed 260 emergency backup ballasts in buildings 200, 203, and 208. Throughout this project, we worked within patient areas where extreme cleanliness was a major concern. There was a risk of increasing infectious diseases, and Pure Electric had solutions to alleviate this from occurring. We utilized tenting, HEPA filtered vacuums, and acute attention to detail.

The VA Medical Center in Menlo Park required enhanced emergency power capabilities in buildings 331 and 334. The conduit we installed on the roof of building 331 was O-Cal conduit (PVC-coated rigid). As we did in San Francisco, infectious disease controls were implemented during panel installations. We supplied and installed a 400 amp 4-wire automatic transfer switch, and then tested it and trained engineering staff on operational procedures.

Our goal while performing work within the Veterans Administration environment is to be transparent to the VA staff and patients. We understand that the staff must remain operational, and the quality of life of the patients must not be compromised.

As the prime contractor, Pure Electric enhanced the power recovery capabilities of certain buildings at Coast Guard Island in Oakland. We installed an electrical system that pulled power from multiple sources if the buildings lost base power.
